CSP Global

CSP GLOBAL was established to ensure continuity and new perspectives for the research and development innovations and historical legacy of “Center for Studies of the Person”.  Founded in 1968 in La Jolla, California USA by humanist Carl R. Rogers and his community of person-centered colleagues, CSP has operated on a global scale through both in-person and online initiatives for nearly 60 years

CSP GLOBAL carries forward the legacy of the CSP while expanding the reach and global influence of the Person-Centered movement. CSP . This fosters authentic, compassionate, and collaborative approaches to personal, social, and global growth.

CSP GLOBAL is committed to preserving and safeguarding its publications, films, and historical archives in close connection with CSP’s founders and the worldwide cohort of PCA professionals. Based on the creative PCA projects and innovations of hundreds of past and current CSP members, and of PCA professionals everywhere, CSP-Global envisions a worldwide development of Person-Centered activities.

This perspective embraces simmering and emerging opportunities to help resolve current and future life-challenges through enrichment of our founders’ far-reaching human, cultural and global legacy.

 

We are committed to shaping CSP GLOBAL into a research institution and a center for informal education, drawing on the strength of its members’ experience. It aspires to become a laboratory for human evolution — a space where individuals grow through self-knowledge, self-acceptance, and the richness of authentic relationships.

Firmly rooted in the values, principles, and objectives of the Center for Studies of the Person (La Jolla) CSP GLOBAL seeks to be both a community and a source of support for its members, as well as a resource for the study and practice of the Person-Centered Approach. It promotes learning through encounter and offers a space where members can bring person-centered projects and visions to life.

Activities

To achieve these purposes, the Entity shall operate through:

  • promotion of the person-centered approach for the well-being of individuals, groups, communities, organizations, and educational settings;
  • promotion of the person-centered approach extended to all living species;
  • dissemination of the culture of listening and nonviolent communication;
  • development of cultural and extracurricular educational activities, with assistance to members;
  • collaboration and support among helping professionals to develop social projects and activities;
  • promotion of the establishment of entities and groups with similar purposes, supporting their activities;
  • organization of activities for the psychological and social well-being of individuals, families, and social groups;
  • organization of events, gatherings, and social activities;
  • promotion of educational and support programs;
  • production and use of educational materials and archives;
  • collaboration with public and private entities at national and international levels;
  • fundraising to support general-interest activities transparently and fairly.
