Einar Columbus Salvesen
Einer Columbus Salvesen is feeling some success in his four-year legal and public campaign to reform aspects of the Child Welfare Services in his native Norway. Columbus influenced a group of psychological professionals and legal experts to protest the nationwide failure of care arrangements and methods of assessment in child protection. His meetings with the Minister of the Services has resulted in an official investigation into conflicts of interest and legal violations within Service procedures that produce serious consequences to the public, including needless trauma to individuals and destruction to family relationships. Immigrant families seem particularly affected. Columbus and his group advocate that the Services place trust, respect, and dialogue at the center of their reformed procedures.
